About Fairy Cove Silks
The evolution of an artist is always unfolding. Meagan's first encounter with dyeing silk was through involvement of an online yahoo fabrics co-op in 2002, which was feeding her developing interest and sewing activities which came to focus on silk fabrics. The first purchasing silk, ready to dye shirts & dyes was for a homeschooling project for her 4 children, then ages 11, 9, 6, 3 back in 2003. Fairy Cove as a company began soon after with the simple interest of supplementing the one-income family. Fairy Cove existed as a canopy of vine maple on the families' Oregon property where they brought 'fairy-berries' and built fairy houses at Winter Solstice and climbed and played during summers.

We reflect how our artistic skills continue to grow
Spurred by the sale of a few items from dyeing explorations quickly blossomed into the launch of the childrens product line and the first website followed in 2004. Belly dance product line was added in 2006. The business has doubled every year since its beginnings, a testament to the quality and caring that goes into each silk, evolved into a full-time daily production studio.
Recently, she found her niece with an early rainbow blanket and Meagan was aghast at what 'an awful rainbow' it was. Amazed at how her skills have developed and continue to refine, she has always proscribed it is the customers who are the true patrons making this artistic work possible. A profound belief in energy and healing through touch and color, Fairy Cove Silk products are the embodiment of the artists belief in the fundamental interaction of energy between our material surroundings and those that move within them.

Fairy Cove's Beginnings
Fairy Cove launched its Children's Silk Toy Product line in 2004 only to follow with a full belly dance product line in 2006. We continue to expand our product offerings monthly!
We're a typical impassioned business began with sewing in Spring 2003, then began dyeing silk fabrics at home in Summer of 2003, launched our website and first product lines just months later March 2004. We soon began employing home workers and moms. More growth meant expansion into the 500sf garage studio in Spring 2006. We expanded and moved across country in Spring 2008 to Greensboro, North Carolina. In February 2009 we returned to Oregon and we have now set up a studio in St. Helens, just outside of Portland.
Currently, in St. Helens Oregon we are making space in our studio for interfacing with retail and classes. The process is highly involved, as we have undoubtedly a lot of creative manufacturing going on. We are excited about all the changes this brings. Currently our studio is in a light industrial cement building which offers ideal conditions for processing silk fabrics, nice and cool. We have our inventory available for perusal, with lots of unique pieces and items that haven't yet hit the internet. We hope you'll stop in and see what kind of silks might work for you!
